It attempts to call the decoder twice for a file that doesn't exist, and then acts as if the file was loaded but had an unsupported sample range of 0. Loading... It may have been something that was introduced and then fixed or something configuration dependent, like a driver leak. I myself have 16GB of RAM, and the games allocate anywhere up to 3'000 - 3'500 MB until they crash.
